Commercial Dome & Skylight Replacement

Commercial Dome & Skylight Replacement - Hollywood Skylights, Los Angeles

Warehouses, retail boxes, and industrial buildings across LA are topped with big acrylic dome skylights and glass units that went up decades ago. By now many have yellowed, cracked, or started leaking over the floor. Commercial dome and skylight replacement is a core part of our commercial work, and the scale is the main thing that makes it different from a house.

Why commercial domes fail

Same reasons as residential, multiplied. Acrylic and polycarbonate domes yellow, haze, and grow brittle under years of sun. On a big roof with dozens of them, the light loss adds up and the leak risk is constant. A cracked dome over inventory or a production floor is a real problem, not a cosmetic one.

What we replace them with

  • New domes, acrylic or polycarbonate, like-for-like in the existing curbs. The fast, economical fix across a large roof.
  • Glass units where clarity, longevity, or performance justify the upgrade.
  • Impact-resistant polycarbonate where breakage or security is a concern.

The scale advantage

On a commercial roof we are usually replacing many units at once. That means we can plan the work around your operations, stage materials, and move efficiently across the roof in a way that a one-off job cannot. One mobilization, the whole roof handled.

A typical job: A warehouse with rows of yellowed acrylic domes, several cracked, all dimming the floor below. We replaced the full set in a planned sequence that kept the building running, and the floor went from gloomy to genuinely daylit.

How pricing works

Commercial dome replacement is priced by project, and volume matters, a roof with a hundred domes prices very differently per unit than a job with two. Material matters too: polycarbonate domes cost less than acrylic and hold up to impact better when new, but tend to deteriorate faster over time, a real tradeoff worth discussing. We will not guess at a number without a site visit or plans to bid from.

How it goes

We start with a roof survey, count and assess the units, and put together a written scope and estimate. Units are ordered to spec, and we schedule around your operations. See the commercial overview for the full rooftop scope we cover.
